Description
Ficus microcarpa is a resilient evergreen tree native to Asia, often grown as a bonsai or ornamental indoor plant. Known for its glossy green leaves and compact shape, it thrives in both indoor and outdoor environments, particularly in warm climates like Cyprus. It can grow up to 50 feet tall in the wild, though bonsai forms are much smaller, making it ideal for home decoration or small gardens. With proper care, this long-lived plant can thrive for decades. It is moderately easy to maintain, requiring occasional pruning, watering, and repotting every 1–2 years. However, it should be protected from overwatering and pests like mealybugs and scale.
