Description
Ficus elastica, commonly known as the rubber tree or rubber plant, is a striking indoor foliage plant prized for its glossy, dark green leaves and air-purifying qualities. Native to Southeast Asia, it thrives in tropical environments but adapts well as a houseplant in bright, indirect light. It is a hardy evergreen that can grow impressively tall in the wild, reaching 15–30 meters, but is typically kept to 1–3 meters indoors. With minimal maintenance and moderate watering, it makes an excellent choice for homes and offices. Its bold leaves add a modern, architectural element to interior spaces. However, it is toxic to pets if ingested, so caution is advised.
