Description
Strelitzia reginae, commonly known as Bird of Paradise, is a striking perennial plant known for its vivid orange and blue flowers resembling a tropical bird. Native to South Africa, it thrives in Cyprus’s climate, making it ideal for outdoor gardens or bright indoor areas. It grows to a height of 1–2 meters and spreads about 0.6–1.2 meters, with glossy green leaves and bold blossoms that appear from late autumn to early spring. Strelitzia prefers sunny to partly shaded spots and well-draining soil. With proper care, including regular watering and occasional pruning, it remains a long-lived and eye-catching ornamental plant.
