Description
Pyracantha coccinea is a hardy deciduous shrub prized for its dense, spiny structure and year-round ornamental value. It produces small white or creamy-white flowers in late spring to early summer, followed by bright red or orange berries that persist into winter, attracting birds and pollinators. Its glossy dark green foliage and thorny branches make it an excellent choice for hedges, privacy screens, or security barriers. Native to Europe and Asia, it thrives in a range of climates and soil types. Pyracantha is low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established, ideal for urban gardens in Cyprus.
