Myrtus communis, commonly known as common myrtle, is a versatile evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean region. This hardy plant is well-suited to Cyprus’ climate, thriving in full sun to partial shade and tolerating mild frost. With its dense foliage, it’s ideal for hedges, topiary, and courtyard gardens. It requires moderate care, including regular watering, pruning, and occasional repotting. Myrtus communis is non-toxic and appreciated both for its ornamental appeal and resilience.
