Description
Bougainvillea sp. is a vibrant, flowering woody vine or shrub native to Brazil. It is well known for its long-lasting, colorful bracts in shades of pink, red, purple, orange, or white, which surround its small, inconspicuous flowers. In Cyprus’ climate, this plant thrives in full sun and warm conditions, blooming from spring to fall. It is resilient once established and can be trained to climb on fences, pergolas, and walls, creating a stunning visual display. Although moderately high in maintenance, especially for shaping and pruning, its beauty and drought tolerance make it a favorite for Mediterranean landscapes.
