Description
Cupressus sempervirens, commonly known as the Mediterranean cypress, is a tall, elegant evergreen conifer native to Southern Europe and Western Asia. Known for its narrow, columnar shape and dense, dark green foliage, this tree can live for over a thousand years. It grows up to 25 meters tall and is often used in formal gardens, hedges, or as windbreaks. Adapted to dry, sunny climates like Cyprus, it tolerates a range of soils and requires minimal maintenance once established. While it doesn’t produce showy flowers, its ornamental value lies in its sculptural form and longevity. This conifer is also highly resistant to pests and drought.
